carols-mncHunter Valley Gardens ignites the Spirit of Christmas

For the third year running, Hunter Valley Gardens is set to host the Christmas Lights Spectacular, Australia’s biggest Christmas lights display. A wonderful experience for the whole family to enjoy, the Gardens will be alive with colour every night from Thursday 12 November until Wednesday 6 January 2010 (excluding Christmas Day & Night).

New South Wales Touch Football Association State Cup
New South Wales Touch Association will host the 33rd Annual State Cup in Port Macquarie at Tuffins Lane Sports Field, Tuffins Lane, Port Macquarie . There will be three days of non stop action, with 180 teams and 200 referees from all over New South Wales. The divisions are from Men's and Women's 20s through to Men's 50s and Women's 40s. Pacific Palms Masters Carnival
Elizabeth Beach is the venue for this year's Blueys Cellars Masters Carnival a surf life saving carnival for the over 30's surf club members. Starts at 9am registration, 10am start.

Salvation Army Toy Run
11:00 AM The bikes will be leaving Wingham Plaza at 11am to travel to Taree, Lansdowne and ending up at Harrington Skate Park. Come along at around 12 or 12.30pm with your donations and join in the fun at Harrington. Food & Drink available (all proceeds to the Salvos).

Festival of the Sun 2009 - Friday to Saturday
This event will be held at Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park, 1 Munster Street, Port Macquarie. Entertainment includes some of Australia's favourite musical acts, mashed with the sounds of some of the country's brightest stars who have recently burst onto the Oz music scene. Feature bands include Spiderbait, Little Birdy, The Beautiful Girls, Children Collide and many more. Tickets limited to 3000 and only available to over 18’s for $120 each (includes camping). Christmas Carols Westport Park
The Combined Churches of Port Macquarie are staging a spectacular night of Christmas celebrations at Westport Park, Buller Street, Port Macquarie. Over 7000 people are expected to attend the carols. Come along and enjoy traditional carol singing, carols are free. A special collection will be taken on the night. There will be a carnival atmosphere with many food and candle vendors, with fun rides for the kids. Contact Kate Hutten on 0418 861 487 for further information.

The Coffs Coast Carols is a community event and a wonderful way for families and friends to get together and celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
Starts 7pm with fireworks at 9:30pm

Old Bar Lions Carols in the Park
The evening will start with a sausage sizzle at 5.30pm, with the carols commencing at 6.30pm.
Glow candles, arm bracelets, and Santa hats will be on sale, and there will be a visit from the 'big man in red'.

The Rotary Club of Tuncurry Forster presents Carols by Candlelight at John Wright Park Music Bowl. Starting at 6.30pm with Lynne Leanne, Great Lakes Concert Band, NBN Big Dog, Face Painting, Candles, Song Sheets & Santa.

Sawtell Carols by Candlelight

Community carol singing under the stars. Have a picnic on the 9th fairway from 6pm. Santa Claus arrives at 7.30pm to start the carol singing. Sausage sizzle available, also a jumping castle for the kids.
Free admission, but all donations collected on the night go to local charities and community groups.


24 December 
Nature's Gifts: Dalang Garumba and Friends
An exhibition of prints, paintings, jewellery, clapsticks and a program of creative arts workshops by local Aboriginal artists will be held at Sea Acres Rainforest Centre, Pacific Drive, Port Macquarie. Creative arts workshops will be held each Tuesday morning until 22 December for various costs. Contact Sea Acres Information Officers on 02 6582 3355 for further information.

New Years Eve Celebrations

Scotts Head Reserve
Early welcome to the New Year (4 pm-10 pm) by the ocean in Scotts Head. This is an Alcohol Free Family Event - carnival rides, live music, jumping castle, glo-rope stall, food vans etc.

New Years Eve Celebrations - Forster Tuncurry
Celebrate New Years Eve Great Lakes style! From 6.30pm John Wright Park will be filled with music and entertainment for the entire family. The celebrations kick off featuring Rattle 'n' Hum a U2 covers band and then lead up to one of the largest fireworks displays on the North Coast.  Tune into Great Lakes FM 101.5 at 9pm for the fireworks simulcast as this is an event not to be missed!
