What's On

diary-web'What's On' on the Central Coast of NSW

Spring has sprung on the Central Coast!

In September the Central Coast comes alive as the Mt Penang Parklands hosts the Australian Springtime Flora Festival. Now in its 24th year, this event is NSW's premier gardening event, with over 300 exhibits of all things gardening, home, outdoor living and coastal lifestyle. Visitors can delight in everything from landscape architecture to homewares, potted plants, floral design and don’t miss the celebrity lead garden demonstrations, tips and tricks. Located on 5 hectares, the Australian Springtime Flora Festival has a festival atmosphere with children’s rides and live entertainment as well as a variety of food stalls selling everything from hamburgers to gourmet delights and wines. The Australian Springtime Flora Festival runs from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 September – call Central Coast Tourism on 4343 4444 for more details.

The Coaster Festival is arguably the biggest annual music event on the Central Coast and is on again this September. With a stellar lineup featuring Cypress Hill, Birds of Tokyo, Art vs Science, Bluejuice, Basement Birds, Silversun Pickups and much, much more – this is one event not to miss. The Coaster Festival takes place at Gosford Showground on Saturday 25 September. Head to www.coasterfestival.com.au for more information.

September also marks the start of the Spring School Holidays and as always, there will be plenty to see and do on the Central Coast with the kids! Don’t miss Mt Penang Gardens’ popular “Dip, Dip, Dip Days” programs when they return on Tuesday 28th; Department of Sport & Recreation Broken Bay is once again offering their kids school holiday camps; and who could forget the entertaining shows each Wednesday through Sunday in Memorial Park at The Entrance!

There really is so much to see and do on the Central Coast and we’ve just given you a taste. Head to www.visitcentralcoast.com.au or call us toll-free on 1300 132 975 to find out more about your next visit to the Central Coast!
